During a walk down the gravel road, I spy a gaggle of geese. The water table is high this year, creating a slew that reflects the soft pink sky and a lovely spot to enjoy an evening swim. The photo, taken May of 2023 was an especially smokey month, when we saw unusually redder and hazier skies. The pink sky could likely have been due to the amount of particles floating through the atmosphere.

The Goose Tracks quilt block was published under many different names over the years. While sources had it print in 1895, the first mail order quilt pattern company may have published it as far back as 1889. It was included in the Ladies Art Company‘s first catalog that was titled, Diagrams of Quilt, Sofa, and Pin Cushion Patterns. This very well known and popular quilt block was chosen for obvious reasons.
