This photo seems rather boring at first glance, but this sad little shack made me think of how difficult it can be to feel alone. So many people are battling loneliness. I’ve been there myself, but I’ve discovered that one of the greatest accomplishments, is learning to be ok with being alone. Learning to feel right in your own skin is a gift not everyone receives, but is worth every bit of heartache to get there.

About the quilt block

The Lonely Star quilt block was published in 1966 in a magazine called Aunt Kate’s Quilting Bee. A “Magazine For Quilt Lovers” that focused on quilts, crochet, embroideried items, potholders, aprons, and penpals. Just as we are all connected in life, when we gather many of the blocks together, you can see how the blocks connect to become something even more beautiful.
