A chance photo taken outside my son’s home, led to the creation of My Blue Heaven. In my world, these are the colors of summer. A large old tree is the star of the show, with a blooming canola crop accenting that crystal clear blue sky. This is the kind of day to find that shady spot in the cool grass to read, enjoy a picnic or catch an afternoon nap.

About the quilt block
The Blue Heaven quilt block appeared in the Chicago Tribune in the 1930’s when Loretta Leitner Rising wrote a column under the pen name, Nancy Cabot. An incredible secondary design is created when joining multiple blocks together.
